New powerful graphic cards can run hot - VERY hot, add to that theirs stock fans and you wont be able to withstand that noise for longer than a couple of minutes (unless you have good headphones). Playing with overclocking is even harder with the graphic card being hot as hell (even more than 100°C) .

* Hard Disk - Cooling & Silencing - Bituminous Box

When you have everything silenced in your PC there is only one more source of noise - the hard disk. Hard disk silencing is very challenging, because it cannot operate at high temperature.
It took a long time to find noise reducing materials which would dissipate heat, too. I have sourced special bituminous mats used to dampen sound in car engines. The case from old CD-ROM was a perfect enclosure. A number of bituminous mats are layered together and to prevent hard drive from sticking to them aluminium tape is used.
This technique works very well and the hard drive is barely audible; low operating temperature is achieved as well
WARNING! - now that the hard disk has been silenced you may be start hearing other new noises (for example squeaking coils on motherboard, graphic card or power supply).
